Carys Wood, aged 18, who plays the trumpet and is from southwest Wales, has been supported by the charity, with awards contributing to instruments, tuition, and transportation expenses - and she said it was "amazing" to be taking part in the concert. "Musical pursuits are frequently pricey," the musician remarked. She is now studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and added that "all people deserve the chance" to hone their artistic talents. Generations Gathering Carys's 11-year-old sister, Eliza, who is a euphonium player, will be present at the Abbey. "I never thought I'd be able to play there in front of so many important people," she said. Attending the service will be representatives of different generations. That will feature Saphia Turner, aged nine, recipient of a youth community award, who sells artwork and carries out sponsored challenges to generate funds for community pantries.
